Cyber Essentials Compliance Manchester

Cyber threats continues to pose a valid and growing threat for every business, large or small in Manchester and across the UK.
Cyber Essentials helps you to guard your organisation against cyber attack.

Cyber Essentials Readiness

The Cyber Essentials scheme is a simple but effective government backed scheme that helps businesses protect themselves against the most common cyber-attacks.

Helps businesses inoculate themselves against:

  • Phishing attacks
  • Malware
  • Ransomware
  • Password Guessing
  • Network Attacks

Most cyber-attacks are crimes of opportunity – the digital equivalent of a thief trying your front door to see if its unlocked.

Cyberessentials Certification

We are delighted to have been approved as a Certification Body (CB) for the IASME Consortium.

Being a licensed CB allows us to deliver Cyber Essentials assessments on behalf of the IASME Consortium, who are responsible for running the Cyber Essentials programme for the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), a UK government body linked to GCHQ. We are also authorised to deliver IASME Governance, an affordable and achievable alternative to ISO27001 for smaller businesses, or useful addition to those who already hold the ISO27001 certification.

  • Secure Configuration – making sure that all devices and software are as secure as possible
  • Software Updates – protect against vulnerabilities by keeping your devices and applications up to date
  • Malware Protection – asses, setup and maintain expertly configured anti-malware software
  • Firewalls and Routers – assess information before it hits your network to make sure it is safe

Cyber Essentials Benefits

  • Average cost of a cyber-security breach in the UK in 2019 is £3.18m, or £113 per record (from a Ponemon Institute report). This amount is made up of fines imposed by the ICO, loss of revenue, cost of downtime, and the cost of paying off ransomware attacks. This doesn’t event account for the reputational costs.
  • Cyber Essentials reassures your customers that you take their privacy seriously
  • Cyber Essentials is a requirement for many government contracts
  • The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) recognises and actively encourages certification as part of its ‘Practical Guide to IT Security’
  • Certification includes 1-year Cyber Liability insurance for organisations valued at under £20m
  • Likely to reduce any fines or other punitive measures issued by the ICO if there is a breach if you have Cyber Essentials certification within the last year
